February Meeting: Fishing the Missouri River

The Missouri River near our state capitol offers some of the finest fly fishing opportunities in the state. Yes, there are a few trout over there, but in this instance we are thinking more along the lines of white bass, smallmouth bass, carp, and walleye. Join presenters Hans Stephenson and Dave Gamet as they discuss fly fishing on the Missouri River.

Board votes to dontate to Outdoor Campus West

At last night's board meeting, the Board approved a $25,000 donation to the South Dakota Outdoor Campus West. This substantial donation strengthens the club's commitment to outdoor education and environmental stewardship.

The Outdoor Campus in Sioux Falls has been a huge success, so the GF&P has decided to build a similar facility west of the Missouri. The Outdoor Campus in Rapid City will feature free classes to the public. In addition, it will be available as a meeting place for sportsman's groups (like the BHFF and Safari Club International). Outdoor Campus West will be a huge addition to our community.
